Our Yoga teacher's training is a great opportunity to learn classical yoga from ancient yogic texts of Sanskrit and Tamil. Our training provides the right foundation, deeper knowledge, adequate tools and nourishing environment where you reconnect with yourself, body, mind and soul. The aim of the teacher’s training is to share ‘Yoga As It Is’ and to pass on the ancient knowledge required to take your yoga practice beyond the mat into everyday living and being in the present. We believe that every human being has the ability to rejuvenate, transform and blossom into the most radiant version of themselves when given time, space and support in an uplifting environment. This experience gives you the capability to find long lasting happiness, your purpose in life and the passion to share the yogic lifestyle with others. Embrace Yoga in it's totality and let our teacher's training transform you into an inspirational Yoga teacher. A lifetime memorable experience!
Hamsalife retreats are a great way to go on a vacation and really feel the difference. Our retreat is a complete package which offers daily satsangs (silent meditation, mantra chanting and spiritual lecture), trekking, sight seeing, cultural activities and yoga classes while still having plenty of free time to rest, socialize with new and old friends and enjoy delicious vegetarian meals. We believe every soul deserves to be nourished from the inside out, and pampered from the outside in, which is why we have created a well designed retreat package so that you reclaim your depleted energies and be nurtured back to a state of flourishing vitality.
We provide the planet’s most innovative, thoughtfully designed and consciously made natural yoga mats, accessories and fitness apparels. We believe that all of the Earth’s living matter, air, oceans and land form an interconnected system that can be seen as a single entity. By nurturing, protecting and respecting our planet, its natural resources and its inhabitants, we enrich our own lives and those of future generations.

Retreat - Rest - Relax - Refresh - Rejuvenate
"HAMSA” (Sanskrit - हंस) means Swan. The Hamsa represents perfect union, balance and life. Swan has special connotations in the monistic philosophy of Advaita Vedanta - just as the swan lives on water but its feathers are not wet by water; similarly a Yogi tries to live in this material world full of Maya, but is unsoiled by its illusionary nature.
The Khamsa (Arabic: خمسة khamsah, Hebrew: חַמְסָה, also romanized khamsa, meaning lit. "five") is a palm-shaped amulet popular throughout the Middle East and North Africa. Depicting the open right hand, an image recognized and used as a sign of protection in many societies throughout history, the hamsa is believed to provide defense against the evil eye.
Hamsa - Ham Sa - Sa Ham - Soham :
Ham-sa when inverted reads as sa-ham, which in Sanskrit means the oneness of human and the divine. I am everything there is, and feel at one with the entire cosmos. I am without form, without quality, without past, present or future. I am the pure light of action-less awareness. Actually, Soham is a very mystical word and it means to merge Shiva and Shakti together and to transcend beyond the duality. The realization of Soham is the highest knowledge and purpose of life.
It is an ajapa mantra (a non-uttered mantra). Simply feel the two mantras according to the natural flow of your breath. Focus on the sound HAM, while inhalation and SA, while exhalation; which would make a complete sound HAMSA. The same can be reversed by inhaling with SA and exhaling with HAM, making it sound like SOHAM. One method is more energizing where the Prana shakti is ascending and the other method is more calming/relaxing where the Prana shakti is descending and hence, one needs to experiment both methods to figure out what works best for them. Thus, a Hamsa came to epitomize the Prana, the breath of life.
HAM bijam SAH saktih krom kilakam
Sriguru-prasada-siddhyarthe jape viniyogah.
HAM is the Bija / Seed and SA is the Shakti / Power.
Both Hamsa Upanishad & Guru Gita say that HAM is bijam & SAH is shakti. Kilakam means an anchor or nail. Hamsa upanishad says that 'SOHAM' is kilakam, Guru gita says that 'Krom' is kilakam. As the Guru Gita is born from HAM and grows from SA, it is grounded and stabilized in its growth by Krom.
Taddyotam padasambhavah tu caranam
dhyayed vibhum sasvatam.
(The Guru, who dwells in) the lotus surrounded by the divine petals HAM & SAH, which reside in all beings and are the cause of the world, manifested the world in his own way and of his own free will. Meditate on the Guru, who reveals That, who is the expression of the shambhava state (Shivahood), who illumines like the flame of a lamp, who is eternal and all-pervasive, and who is a visible form of all letters.
