How to get there

Hamsa Retreats will provide you transportation from the city of Dehradun or Rishikesh/Haridwar to our retreat location in Netala, Uttarkashi. Once you book our retreat, we will be communicating with you via email and coordinate your pickup time and location. Transportation duration from these two locations vary on traffic, averages 5 hours.

We recommend you to reach Dehradun or Rishikesh/Haridwar via Air or Train. Despite the relatively short distance from New Delhi to our retreat location (approximately 430km), the road is surrounded by mountaneous zones which extends the traveling time.

Visa information

Welcome to India!  Citizens of 43 countries, including the U.S., Brazil, Germany and Australia, can now apply for a visa-on-arrival, cutting out the need to visit an Indian embassy and wait in line for a permit.

What you need is a passport valid for six months, a photograph (a square image without borders — against a white or light background), $60 and four days. You can upload these documents along with an online application form on this website, pay your visa fees via debit or credit card, and wait to receive an “electronic travel authorization” via email.

You must apply at least four days prior and up to 30 days in advance of your visit to India, and once you arrive you can only stay in the country for 30 days.  When you arrive at one of nine airports — New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Trivandrum — you’ll need to present your electronic travel authorization, and have your biometric details recorded at immigration.

Note: You can’t extend this visa, or apply for it more than twice in a year. Obtain any required visas and other documentation prior to your traveling. If you are unable to obtain a visa, the Cancellation Policy for the Hamsa Retreats will apply.
